Kroozr $kid Nation – Isla Vista Cruiser Racing Club
January 21, 2010 by ToddBreaking beach cruiser news out of Isla Vista…this is funny. Looks like the college students in Santa Barbara are riding cruisers and drinking beers…shocking!
Kroozr $kid Nation, an Isla Vista cruiser-bike racing club that prides itself on its antics and inebriated daredevil stunts, ravaged the streets of Isla Vista Friday night.
The gang painted the streets with skid marks and vomit as members raced through the streets of I.V. for 10 minutes. Racers lapped the 6800 block of Sabado Tarde and Del Playa four times, guzzling a beer upon the completion of each lap.

Belt Drive Beach Cruiser
January 14, 2010 by ToddLooking for a belt drive beach cruiser bike? Apparently they are out there, although not very common. I’ve found at least 1 that is available from GT. It’s called the “GT Aerostream”. See picture below…
Belt Drive
This cruiser uses the gates carbon belt drive.

Some of the features:
- Gates carbon belt drive
- Shimano 3 speed hub
- Efficient and smooth rolling 700 x 47 tires
- Women’s model (shown) has a front basket for Valerie to store her pom poms. This front basket has a collapsible frame which is cheaper to ship (lowers dealer cost)
- Men’s model has rear racks and panniers.
- Unique rear triangle design eliminates the usual bolt off triangle used in other belt drive designs.
- Lightweight aluminum frame is stiffer, less clunky and lighter than your standard beach cruiser. Valerie let me ride her bicycle and I can report that it indeed provides a very nice and smooth ride.
